Oahu

On my previous trips to Hawaii, I had always wanted to see Pearl Harbor, but I never had the chance, since I was traveling alone and didn't know anything about getting around in the area. This trip, Jack and I went together. Traveling with someone you care about definitely makes the trip so much better. Before joining the tour, we started off the trip with a full day at Pearl Harbor. It definitely needs a full day (or better yet 2). We tried to see as much as possible. We started off with the USS Arizone Memorial, then the USS Missouri, and then the Pacific Aviation Museum, and then finished up with the USS Bowfin submarine and museum.. We definitely kept on the move. The following day, we had a few hours, so we headed back to Pearl Harbor and were able to get a few long shots of the USS Missouri, USS Arizona Memorial, and just explored the exhibit area. Then we headed off to the airport and on to join up with the tour on the next island...Maui.

Mongoose
Mongoose
Jack asked me if I had seen any mongoose on my previous trips to Hawaii. I had not seen any. However, as we were walking around Pearl Harbor, I spotted one in the bushes but it was gone before he saw it. The following morning we found a couple of mongoose playing under the bushes. This time we were able to get a few shots...unfortunately I only had the wide angle lens. Jack got better pictures with his 400mm.
