Maui

For years, I have dreamed of going to Hawaii. This year, I finally got a chance. I signed up for another Lightchase Photography Tour. I couldn't think of a better place to spend part of February. I left the cold winter weather (4 degrees) for the beauty and warmth of Hawaii. I stepped off the plane in Maui, temperatures in the mid 70s.

The group met me at the airport and we were off and running to catch the evening sunset on the beach.

Our first morning we headed to the beach at Hookipa Park. It didn't turn out to be spectacular color, it did provide us with the opportunity to watch some waves. While we were shooting, several surfers showed up to enjoy a day on the waves. We returned to Hookipa Park for another sunrise.
At Hookipa Park Beach we watched the waves roll in and over the lava. Later that morning, we headed up to Halekala Crater.
Our last day in Hawaii, we visited Iao State Park. Although it was a cloudy day, the sun came out at just the right time. We were able to shoot one final sunset before boarding our flights home.
