ALABAMA HILLS

I had never heard of the Alabama Hills before, but there was something very familiar about them.  I soon learned the reason they looked familiar.  There have been hundreds of movies, television commercials, and tv shows filmed in the Alabama Hills.  Some of those movies that included scenes from Alabama Hills include Pollyanna, North to Alaska, Tremors, Maverick, GI Jane, and the Gladiator, among many others.

MONO LAKE

Our next stop was at Mono Lake.  I have been fascinated by the formations at Mono Lake since the first photograph of the area I saw.  Getting to see this for myself was a special treat.

The tour was planned perfectly for us to be at Mono Lake during the full moon.   The light clouds added to the beauty of the night.

A storm was moving in over the mountains and they had completely disappeared.

With the upcoming storm, our trip to Mono Lake was cut short and after the morning shoot, we packed up and headed back to Alabama Hills and Death Valley National Park.   Our timing was perfect.  Once we reached our evening destination, we saw a road sign indicating that due to snow, chains were now required on all vehicles.  Had it not been for Mark's knowledge of the area, and effects the weather would have, we would have been trapped on the other side of the mountain.

Before we left Mono Lake, I turned around and decided to take one last shot.

Once again, Lightchase Photography had managed to provide the perfect trip. This trip was even more special than most because it was a small group of good friends.  We had lots of laughs, explored beautiful locations, and had a lot of fun. Thanks for another great opportunity Mark!  Lightchase Photography is the BEST!  I'm looking forward to the rest of this year.
